A Hidden Gem in the Heart of Metrotown: T&T Supermarket’s Food Court

One of the Best Meals I had in Vancouver was at a Supermarket

After wandering through the seemingly endless maze that is Metropolis at Metrotown—the largest mall in B.C.—I stumbled upon one of the most unexpectedly delightful meals I’ve had in Vancouver: the food court at T&T Supermarket.

Tucked away inside the massive T&T location, this food court isn’t your typical grocery store grab-and-go. It’s a legit hidden gem, especially if you’re craving authentic, comforting Asian eats without breaking the bank.

The selection is incredible. I ended up trying a little bit of everything:
Pan-fried turnip cake – crispy on the outside, soft and savory on the inside. Total comfort food vibes.
Pineapple buns – fresh out of the oven, fluffy and just the right amount of sweet.
Congee – warm, soothing, and perfect for when you want something cozy and filling.
Mango sago – light, fruity, and refreshing; the perfect dessert to wrap things up.
• A few dim sum classics that were surprisingly high-quality for food court fare.
• And of course, a drink to wash it all down—there were tons of bubble tea and juice options.

The coolest part? You can actually eat a lot of the items you buy in-store right in the food court area. Everything felt super fresh, easy to grab, and seriously affordable. Like, you could have a full meal for less than the price of one dish at a sit-down restaurant nearby.

Be warned though—it was packed when I went. It’s clearly a favorite among locals and shoppers who know the spot. Seating can be a bit of a gamble, but the vibe is relaxed and very come-as-you-are. It’s the perfect place to take a break and refuel after a long day of exploring the mall.

So if you find yourself at Metrotown, don’t sleep on T&T. Skip the usual fast food chains and head over to their food court for a delicious, no-fuss meal that’ll leave you full, satisfied, and maybe even planning your next visit before you leave.
